- Autism Services
HSI is partnering with the Department of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) at the University of Nevada, Reno to start a new (ABA) program for children with Autism. The Program will be called ABA HSI, and the first pilot group will kick off at the first week of July 2008. The pilot program will go for a total of 12 weeks. During this time, the UNR team will be working with five families and their children. The program consists of assessments and data driven results to shape behavior. Parents will also be attending weekly classes which will teach them how to use ABA techniques. This is a very exciting opportunity for HSI and the community and we are thankful to be able to offer it to those in need.
- Mobile XAC
The Mobile XAC is still the same great fundraiser that HSI has been doing for the past 7 years, but this time around we thought we would bring the course to you! Starting on October 1st, 2008, in honor of disability awareness month, the mobile XAC course will be on the road. We will be stopping at companies throughout the Reno/Sparks area to set the course up and give all employees the chance to try their hand at performing tasks that the people we serve do everyday. As those who have participated in the past know, it is definitely not as easy as it looks! To find out more information about our Mobile XAC, or to sign up please visit our XAC page or contact Laura Dale at 775-829-7400 x129.
